A note from Ford's Global Mobility Solutions Manager

Hello, innovators!

Thank you for participating in the Ford Motor Company's São Paulo Mobility Global Challenge. We believe this is an incredible opportunity for you to develop solutions that empower people to combine the use of cars and public transportation to help ease traffic in São Paulo.

As Ford’s Global Mobility Solutions Manager, I am responsible for assessing the products, technologies, and business models required to deliver accessible and affordable mobility solutions that will help solve the world’s biggest mobility challenges. We are using research, experimentation, and innovative thinking to find new ways to optimize the entire transportation ecosystem, improve mobility for all, and, ultimately, change the way the world moves.

No one company or industry alone will be able to develop the hardware and software needed to create a sustainable transportation ecosystem. We need to explore new technologies, new business models, and new partnerships that introduce outside innovation and new perspectives. Ford is looking to the developers of the world — that’s you! — to help create software solutions for São Paulo, “the city of 19 million traffic jams.”

We’re looking for solutions that use real-time data to optimize personal mobility and that combine the use of cars and public transportation to help São Paulo residents get from A to B. It’s all about freedom of movement, and that means different things in different cities.

What can you create to help optimize personal mobility, without trade-offs or compromises for individual travelers? We can't wait to see your mobility innovations!

Good luck, developers! I look forward to working together.
