VUCs – Charge Urban Vehicles
If properly registered, VUC trucks are released for circulation full-time.
Trucks must comply with the conditions laid down in specific legislation and be aware of the operational requirements to be scheduled by the transit agency. Exceptional situations will be authorized depending on the size of the truck, the cargo or type of service being provided. To be effectively allowed some exceptional situations require registration only by the DSV, which can be done over the Internet. There are other exceptional situations that require, in addition to registration, possessing a special authorization to be obtained from the DSV whose request can be made via the Internet.
VUC is characterized as a smaller truck that has a maximum width of 2.20 mt, 6.30 mt in maximum length and load capacity of up to three tons. Understood as the total length measurement of the front bumper to the rear bumper and overall width measured width at the widest point of the vehicle / body. The accessories are not considered such as mirrors, trailer hitches, rubber bumpers or locks, which eventually exceed the dimensions of the cabin or the body, both in width and in length.
The Maximum Restriction Zone amounts to an area of 100 km², and it is bordered by the Marginal Pinheiros, Bandeirantes Avenue, Road Complex Maria Maluf, State avenues Tiradentes, Mofarrej and Queiroz Filho. It still applies to other categories of freight vehicles.
They do have to respect the system of license plate’s last number. In addition, to cycle through Sao Paulo, the vehicles must be registered with the Municipal Transportation Bureau.
Vehicles that are not properly registered can be fined.
